PLEASANT GROVE Property owned by Trophy Homes on which Liahona Academy hopes to build its private, LDS-themed school was preliminarily granted approval Tuesday night by the City Council to annex into Pleasant Grove.
City Council members did express concern over the intended use of the property suggesting a possible zone change for the area in the future but passed the annexation proposal 3-2.
No mention of specific plans for the school were made during the proposal discussion, but a closed session took place following the meeting, in which details of the plan were to be discussed.
The proposed annexation of county land into the city will now undergo a 30-day waiting period, in which objections may be made. A public hearing will follow the waiting period, to discuss future plans for the property.
