ST. GEORGE SkyWest Airlines will have groundbreaking ceremonies Friday for its hangar and maintenance facility at Colorado Springs, Colo.
The 100,000-square-foot facility will be able to service 17 aircraft in a 24-hour period. Located off the Colorado Springs Airport's west runway, the facility will have room for 200 maintenance personnel.
SkyWest Airlines serves Colorado Springs under the United Express and Delta Connection banners with 19 daily flights. The airline employs approximately 270 people in Colorado Springs and first established its maintenance base and crew domicile in 2004.
SkyWest is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. George-based SkyWest Inc.
