Location: On the west side of the mall, connected to the center between Dillard's and Meier & Frank.
Schedule: Construction anticipated to begin in autumn 2006, with completion in late summer 2007. Layton Construction Co. will be general contractor.
About South Towne: Includes 150 stores and restaurants in 1.3 million square feet of retail space. Built 20 years ago, it is the largest shopping center in Utah.
About Macerich Co.: A publicly traded real estate investment trust based in Santa Monica, Calif. It owns or operates more than 80 shopping and lifestyle centers in the United States. South Towne Center is its only center in Utah.
