Shauna Call is conducting a workshop Saturday at 11 a.m. as part of the Utah Botanical Center's Spring Celebration. Other classes include Vegetable Gardening by Everett Watts, 9 a.m.; and Parking Strip Design by Anne Spranger, 10 a.m. Classes are at the Utah House, 920 S. 50 West in Kaysville. The cost is $5 per person. A water-wise plant sale and tours of the Utah House landscape will take place from 9 a.m.-noon.
"Vegetables and Herbs" is the topic for a workshop on Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Main Library, 210 E. 400 South, sponsored by the English Garden at Library Square. The discussion includes plants that are suited to Utah's high desert climate and proper watering tips.
Upcoming programs in the "Gardening With the English Garden" series are "The Cottage Garden" on April 29, and "Plant Selection with Wasatch Community Gardens" on May 6 (364-6202).
Call's Produce & Greenhouse, 2962 W. Gentile in West Layton, has containers and bedding plants for sale and also does custom planting. It also sells many different vegetables in season.
