First it was George Custer.
Now it's George W. Bush.
The Bush administration's proposal to slash millions of dollars from Urban Indian Health Centers amounts to just one more broken promise. Urban Native Americans face extraordinary barriers to assessing mainstream health care. Thirty-four health-care centers are targeted by the administration. They have not yet been identified. The vital Indian Walk-In Center in Salt Lake could fall victim. I would urge Utah's congressional delegation to strongly take a stand against another broken treaty to America's first people.
