The fifth annual Rural Business Conference will take place today and Thursday in Vernal.
The event is co-hosted by U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, and the Utah Rural Development Council. It will feature presentations about economic growth in rural communities and tools and advice for small-business owners, plus a business expo.
Speakers include Bennett; Kathleen Clarke, director of the Bureau of Land Management; JoAnn W. Wagner, chairman, president and chief executive officer of SOS Staffing; and Mayor Melissa Blake of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.
