Davis County residents can dispose of their household products that contain mercury free of charge at two county locations through April.
Items such as thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent and mercury vapor lamps, mercury switches (switches with a "smooth"movement, rather than a "click"), blood pressure gauges and old chemistry sets and toys, will be accepted at the Davis County Health Department's Environmental Health Services Division, 99 S. Main, Farmington, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until the end of the month. Residents can dispose of their mercury waste year-round at the Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District, 650 E. Highway 193, Layton, Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
