It took months of learning the language, but Indian movie star Sonali Kulkarni was able to slip into a role in an Italian movie.

Kulkarni won the best actress award at the recent Milan Film Festival for the Italian-language movie "Fuoco Di Su Me" or "Fire On Me." It took eight weeks of coaching for Kulkarni to learn enough Italian, since she didn't want to merely mouth the dialogue in producer Sergio Scapagnini's love story.

Kulkarni is known in Bollywood, India's prolific movie industry, for wide-ranging roles in some 26 movies since her 1992 debut.
