Federal charges and an arrest warrant were filed in Utah's Central District Court Wednesday against a Utah man accused of exchanging child pornography with his brother, who is already in jail.
According to federal court documents, Daniel Record and his brother Joseph Record had been e-mailing images that were downloaded from the Internet since sometime last year.
Joseph was arrested last week and told police about his e-mail account, which led police to Daniel. After his arrest, Joseph contacted Daniel from jail and told him to remove evidence of the e-mails from his computer, but police still found evidence to charge him also. Both brothers admitted to receiving child pornography from each other. Police found several images as evidence in their computers, as stated in court documents.
Daniel was charged with one count each of possession and distribution of child pornography, and if convicted, he could spend a maximum of 30 years in prison.
