Nine small-business owners and leaders of small-business support organizations were honored Wednesday by the U.S. Small Business Administration for outstanding achievement on behalf of small business.
Honored as the 2006 Minority Champion was Elaine K. Bland, general manager of Lickity Split Chocolate Studio LLC of Blanding.
The SBA Champion Awards were presented as part of the annual observance of National Small Business Week, which ends Saturday.
Winners were selected from nomination packages submitted to SBA field offices in their communities.
