The award's winner is presented with the Joe Dumars Trophy, named after the former Detroit Pistons guard who earlier this week was selected for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Dumars was the recipient of the inaugural Sportsmanship Award, in 1996.

Other past winners are Terrell Brandon, Avery Johnson, Hersey Hawkins, Eric Snow, David Robinson, Steve Smith, Ray Allen, P.J. Brown and, last season, Grant Hill.

Other division winners this year are Jacque Vaughn, the former Jazz guard now with New Jersey; Chicago's Luol Deng; Houston's Yao Ming; Miami's Shaquille O'Neal; and Elton Brand of the Los Angeles Clippers.

This year's selection-committee members were Kenny Smith, Steve Mix, Eddie Johnson, John Celestand and ex-Jazz guard John Crotty.

SIXERS COMING: According to Tuesday's Philadelphia Daily News, the 76ers will send an entry to this year's Rocky Mountain Revue. The July summer league for NBA rookies, youngsters and free agents is hosted by the Jazz at Salt Lake Community College.
