School bond meetings

This week, the Davis School District held two of eight scheduled public meetings to give residents across the county an opportunity to learn more about the district's proposed $230 million bond proposal.

Subsequent meetings will be held through Thursday, April 27, at various locations in Bountiful, Layton, Kaysville and Clearfield.

Upcoming meetings will be held:

• Tuesday, April 18, 7 p.m., Bountiful High School, 695 S. Orchard Drive, Bountiful.

• Thursday, April 20, 7 p.m., Davis High School, 325 S. Main, Kaysville.

• Tuesday, April 25, 6:30 p.m., Clearfield High School, 931 S. 1000 East, Clearfield

• Tuesday, April 25, 7:30 p.m., Northridge High School, 2430 N. 400 West, Layton.

• Thursday, April 27, 7 p.m., Viewmont High School, 120 W. 1000 North, Bountiful.

There will also be a bond presentation held for Spanish-speakers Tuesday, April 25, 7:30 p.m., Clearfield High School, 931 S. 1000 East, Clearfield.

The bond proposal will go to voters during the June 27 primary election. Major projects in the bond include the construction of six additional elementary schools and one new junior high school; additions to Farmington and South Davis junior high schools; additions to Reading and South Weber elementary schools; the rebuilding of Wasatch Elementary; and the purchase of future school sites.
