PROVO Campers can spend no more than 16 nights in a 30-day period at developed or undeveloped campsites in the Uinta National Forest, according to a new special order issued by forest officials.
The order was implemented to clarify campsite-occupancy regulations and to be consistent with other national forests in Utah.
Previously the Uinta National Forest had two different limits, a 16-day limit in undeveloped areas and a 14-day limit in developed areas. The new order is designed to prevent confusion and allows campers staying in developed sites to stay two days longer than under the previous order.
Visit the Uinta National Forest Web site at www.fs.fed.us/r4/uinta or call 801-342-5100 for information.
