Dixie Arts Foundation has selected Doug and Elaine Alder as recipients of the first "Partner in the Arts" award. The award honors an individual or couple who has supported the arts and enriched the St. George artistic community.
The Utah Arts Council board of directors has awarded 13 grants totaling $16,000 to outstanding Utah artists. Winners in the visual arts were: Chris Dunker, to generate photographic prints of Geneva Steel exhibit; Frank McEntire, for supplies for exhibit at Library Square; Amanda Jane Moor, to expand current body of work; and Kristin Glaus Taylor, from framing costs for exhibit at Finch Lane Gallery. The Utah Watercolor Society will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday evening at 7 at Wheeler Historic Farm, 6390 S. 900 East. There will be a panel of artists discussing "Marketing for Emerging Artists." For further information visit www.utwatercolor.com.

Fellowships are now available. Artists may download an application from the UAC's Web site at arts.utah.gov or call 533-3581. Postmark deadline for applications is June 16.
The University of Utah's Department of Art & History will present the fourth in its 2005-06 Visiting Artist & Art Historian series by hosting a lecture by artist and scholar Anika Smulovitz.
