Cingular Wireless said Thursday it is launching wireless service in the greater St. George area.
The company will begin selling service to customers Saturday with three locations operated by Spring Communications: Zion's Factory Outlet Mall, the Red Cliffs Mall and 1091 N. Bluff St.
Seven new cell sites, plus two more to be added in May, will provide coverage from I-15 into St. George, Ivins, Santa Clara, Washington, Toquerville, LaVerkin and Hurricane, all in Washington County.
Cingular, a joint venture between AT&T Inc. and BellSouth Corp., has 54.1 million customers, making it the largest wireless carrier in the U.S.
