Robbery defendant weighs a plea deal

PROVO — A man accused of three first-degree felonies stemming from a robbery at Cash Valley in Orem in January has two weeks to consider a plea agreement offer.

Junior Pale Fea, 28, is charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary for allegedly leaping over a counter and holding what turned out to be a toy gun to a female clerk's head while ordering her to empty the safe.

A preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday was put off until April 5 to allow Fea to consider the deal, which prosecutors offered earlier that day.

Fea's attorney, Michael Petro, declined to reveal details of the offer, which he said his client is considering.

"I wouldn't say it's particularly favorable, but it's something worth considering," Petro said.
