Cafe Pierpont, Baci in Salt Lake are changing ownership

A pair of downtown restaurants, Cafe Pierpont and Baci Trattoria, are changing ownership.

John Williams, Tom Guinney and Tom Seig are selling the restaurants to Gene Kwon of Salt Lake-based Latitude Restaurant Group. Kwon also is buying the Pierpont Building.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Guinney said in a prepared statement that the sellers will focus on potential future growth of their seafood division, which uses the Market Street Grill and Oyster Bar seafood concept.
