I'd like to respond to the "School breakfast is a boon" editorial (March 14). While I agree hunger in children isn't a partisan issue, I don't see why some feel the federal government should be involved in providing school breakfast and encouraging more to come to the trough. Of all the meals of the day, breakfast can be the easiest requiring very little prep work. A bowl, spoon, cereal and milk and voila! you have breakfast. If that's too difficult, try Pop-Tarts. If none of these suggestions are doable for the mentally ill or addict parent, then their children really should be cared for by somebody else until they are well.
