LEHI The Thanksgiving Point Gardens opens its gate to the public for the 2006 season Saturday, March 25.
"Thanksgiving Point Gardens is possibly the best kept secret along the Wasatch Front," said Tracy Erdman, director of the garden. "This is by far the most extensive garden in the region and relatively few people realize what a treasure is in their own back yard."
Thanksgiving Point Gardens features 15 uniquely themed gardens within a 55-acre area that is virtually hidden from view. The gardens are located in a dale about a mile and a quarter northwest of the Thanksgiving Point water tower, the most recognizable icon on the property.
"You'll never see the gardens from 1-15." Erdman said. "That is part of what makes this place so special. When you're here, you are in a world of your own, no cars, no noise, just peace, solitude and beauty."
