American Idol (7 p.m., Ch. 13): The 11 finalists perform. And Fox bloats this out to two hours for one reason — because CBS has done so well with "The Unit" the past couple of weeks.

Hope & Faith (7:30 p.m., Ch. 4): ABC puts this sitcom back on the air because . . . well, because it already paid for the episodes, I suppose.

The Unit (8 p.m., Ch. 2): The team travels to Indonesia to rescue some (really dumb) American missionaries who don't want to be rescued.

Sons & Daughters (8 and 8:30 p.m., Ch. 4): Don gets a role in a play; Cameron isn't thrilled about his wife's continuing education.

Scrubs (8 p.m., Ch. 5): To show his support for a patient, J.D. plans to shave his head.

Blow Out (8 p.m., Bravo): One episode of this reality show about self-promoting, obnoxious hair stylist Jonathan Antin was too much. This is the third-season premiere. Gag!

NBA (8:30 p.m., TNT): Suns at Jazz

The Amazing Race (9 p.m., Ch. 2): The teams race from Russia to Germany.

Boston Legal (9 p.m., Ch. 4): Tom Selleck returns as Shirley's (Candice Bergen) ex-husband.

Law & Order: SVU (9 p.m., Ch. 5): A coed dependent upon financial aid is found dead with a large sum of cash.

Real Housewives of Orange County (9 p.m., Bravo): Imagine that the bratty, self-centered teenage girls of "Laguna Beach" grew up to be bratty, self-centered, middle-age housewives, and you've got an idea what this latest "reality" atrocity is like. Bravo tells us this is the real "Desperate Housewives," but you've got to be real desperate to waste your time on it.

The Shield (11 p.m., FX): In this 90-minute season finale, Kavanagh and Vic continue to battle with Lem as their pawn — and Danny finally confronts the father of her baby.
