MOAB Two men who were camping in Grand County Saturday fell while climbing on canyon walls near Hunter Canyon.
Cole Geyer, 26, and Alexander Tucker, 23, both of Salt Lake City, fell, slid and tumbled more than 180 feet down the side of the canyon, located near Kane Creek Canyon, according to a Grand County Sheriff's Office news release.
They suffered broken bones, lacerations and internal injuries and had to be rescued by Grand County Search and Rescue and emergency medical technicians. They were taken to Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab, according to the news release. Later, Tucker and Geyer were flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.
