Thank A Soldier Day

The second annual Thank A Soldier Day event will take place Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. at 1985 W. 7800 South. The event will include such attractions as military equipment, including at least one military helicopter, a rock-climbing wall, camouflage face-painting for children by military personnel, concessions, music and featured speakers. This is a family friendly event to which the public is invited. There is no charge for admission. Some of the speakers scheduled for the event will include West Jordan Mayor Dave Newton, Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon, Maj. Gen. Brian Tarbet, Rep. Chris Cannon and Gov. Jon Huntsman. An appearance from Sen. Orrin Hatch has been requested, pending schedule availability.

The Thank A Soldier Day events are solely intended to express gratitude and appreciation to veterans and to today's troops who stand ready to sacrifice everything in order to pursue the freedoms we as Americans enjoy.
