PROVO Elder Merrill J. Bateman of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will speak at a Church Educational System Fireside Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Marriott Center at Brigham Young University.
Elder Bateman was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy in November 1995. He also served as the 11th president of BYU from January 1996 to May 2003. Previously, he served as Presiding Bishop of the LDS Church and as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy where he served as president of the Asia North Area.
The fireside will be broadcast live on the BYU-Television and BYU-Radio satellite networks and at byubroadcasting.org.
