FARMINGTON The Davis Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the official start of Legacy Parkway construction Thursday with the Utah Department of Transportation, the Governor's Office and other governmental leaders.
While fighting for the Legacy Parkway, the Davis Chamber created "Utahns for Legacy Parkway," which lobbied for building the critical highway. Many sported stickers that read, "Build Legacy Now!" The group has provided even more stickers that simply say, "Building Legacy Now!" Through its fund-raising efforts, the group will use funds to supply refreshments at the celebration.
The Davis Chamber of Commerce encourages county commuters to join UDOT at an open house to view the proposed parkway and ask questions. The group will be available from 48 on Thursday, at the Davis County Fairpark in Farmington, Exposition Building 2.
Davis Cable Channel 17 will be on hand to cover the event in its entirety from the governor's comments to the official commencement ceremony and stakeholders' comments. It also can be accessed on www.daviscable17.com at a later date.
