Geneva Pipe Co. of Orem will celebrate 50 years of growth on March 1 with groundbreaking for a new facility in St. George.
The new plant, which will provide precast concrete pipe, manholes, box culvert and specialty products, will be located on 15 acres in the Fort Pierce Industrial Park at 1630 E. 4500 South in St. George. It will have approximately 35,000 square feet under cover and is expected to employ about 30 people.
The Geneva facility in Hurricane, Washington County, will be phased out and eventually closed as the new St. George facility comes on line.
Hughes Construction is responsible for designing and building the new plant, which should be complete in December 2006.
Geneva's other manufacturing facilities are in Orem and Salt Lake City, as well as Las Vegas. The company's Salt Lake robotic pipe plant, now under construction, is scheduled to open in late May.
