SANDY A woman was killed and a man critically injured Monday when a sport-utility vehicle slammed into a truck.
Witnesses said the 50-year-old woman looked as if she might have suffered from some sort of medical problem before her SUV drifted into oncoming traffic and hit the truck head-on, said Sandy Police Sgt. Mitch Howard.
The accident occurred about 3:50 p.m. on 10600 South near 165 East. The truck was pulling a trailer.
Police detoured traffic for about two hours while emergency personnel extricated the driver of the truck and tried to revive the woman. The driver of the truck was flown to LDS Hospital in critical condition.
The woman's name was not released Monday pending family notification.The cause of the accident was still under investigation.
