PROVO — Nineteenth-ranked BYU will look to stave off resurgent and revenge-minded Wyoming as the Cougars play host to the Cowgirls today in Mountain West Conference women's basketball action.

Tip-off is 2 p.m. at the Marriott Center between league-leading BYU (20-2 overall, 10-1 MWC) and Wyoming (17-6, 7-5).

With a midweek bye, the Cougars have been off since last weekend's 55-51 victory at UNLV. Dani Kubik scored a game-high 16 points, while Ambrosia Anderson's 15 including a game-winning 3-pointer to break a 51-all tie with 20 seconds to play. Mallary Gillespie added 14, including four treys.

The Cowgirls will look to post their second straight victory over a ranked Mountain West opponent, following Wednesday's 59-52 home upset of No. 20 New Mexico. Jodi Bolerjack logged 22 points and four 3-pointers, while Hanna Zavecz added 18 points and six assists.

After posting a 31-28 halftime lead, the Cowgirls used a 10-5 surge and never saw their lead dip fewer than five points the rest of the game. Wyoming held the Lobos' leading scorer, Dionne Marsh, to just five points on 2-of-14 shooting.

Wyoming has won five of its last seven games to move into fifth place in the MWC standings, a half-game behind TCU.

Meanwhile, BYU will be looking to reverse last year's Wyoming regular-season sweep of the Cougars, including a 75-56 victory at the Marriott Center. BYU won the first meeting this season, with the then-No. 23 Cougars posting a 60-44 victory in Laramie last month.

NO. 25 UTAH AT AIR FORCE: The Utes (18-5, 9-3), who have moved into sole possession of second place in the MWC, have won nine of their past 10 games.

Today's 2 p.m. game at Air Force (12-11, 3-9) could be a historic one with senior Kim Smith closing in on Julie Krommenhoek's school scoring record. Smith needs 18 points to surpass Krommenhoek's career total of 2,087.

In Utah's victory at Colorado State on Wednesday, Smith became the MWC's all-time leading scorer. The Canadian national teamer also holds league marks in field goals made and rebounding.

HAWAII AT UTAH STATE: The Aggies (2-9, 3-18 WAC) will look to pick up their first two-game winning streak of the season when they host Hawaii (14-8, 5-6) tonight at 5 p.m. at the Smith Spectrum. The game will be played prior to Utah State's men's game with Northwestern State.
