NEW YORK (AP) The barricades are coming back to Broadway.
"Les Miserables," the third-longest running show in Broadway history, will return to New York for a special six-month engagement next fall, producer Cameron Mackintosh announced Thursday.
The musical, based on Victor Hugo's epic novel, will open Nov. 9 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Previews begin Oct. 21.
The show's current and final U.S. tour will close in July. Casting for the Broadway engagement will be announced shortly. Tickets will go on sale in June.
The original New York production opened in March 1987, playing for 6,680 performances. The London production, which premiered in October 1985, is still going strong.
