CARSON BROWN, Wasatch: This 171-pound wrestler capped off an impressive 43-2 senior season by winning an individual and team title this past weekend. Brown was named an All-American and is ranked as high as No. 12 in the country.

"Carson just flat out got tough this year. He's not that much fun to wrestle anymore. He's become so good," said coach Ben VomBaur, a former All-American wrestler at Boise State.

Besides his accomplishments on the mats, Brown will leave Wasatch this spring with not only a high school diploma, but with his Associates degree as well. He has taken all the extra classes required and still keeps a 3.7 GPA. Along with winning the individual title, Brown was a big reason why Wasatch won its fourth straight team title.

"He is a team captain and a leader," VomBaur added. "He led by example and vocally when needed. He has the guys' respect, so they listen to him."

CHELSEA SANDBERG, Copper Hills: This senior knows how special every day of her high school basketball career is.

"She made all-region team as a sophomore, and then she missed last year with a torn ACL," said Copper Hills coach Dave Seaman. "That's made her determined not to take anything for granted. She plays very hard every day, and that's set a good tone for us."

Sandberg's enthusiasm to work hard has helped her improve greatly this season. In the Grizzlies' win over Hunter on Jan. 26, she scored 14 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, earned five stills and had five blocks.

"She's unusually quick for a player her size (6-1), and she can do some things that most high school girls can't do because of that," he said. "That coupled with her attitude help her take advantage of every opportunity."

Sandberg will play volleyball at Snow College next year.
