KIMBALL JUNCTION, Summit County A man was killed early Sunday when his car rear-ended a semitrailer on I-80.
The victim was identified as 31-year-old Andrew Graham of Salt Lake City.
The accident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. and about one mile east of Parleys Summit, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Graham was driving alone in a 1993 Ford Taurus and was traveling east at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the truck. The car then rolled off the right side of the road, the UHP said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The UHP is still investigating the accident but said speed appeared to be a factor, and the driver apparently was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the truck, which was hauling lumber, was not injured.
