PLAIN CITY — A 9-year-old boy who was accidentally shot with a rifle Thursday is expected to make a full recovery.

The boy was playing with other children when they found a .22-caliber rifle in a closet. Police say an 11-year-old fired the gun, not knowing it was loaded, and a bullet hit the boy in the mouth. The children were home alone. The victim was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center in serious but stable condition. His condition was upgraded Friday to fair.
