Jenner, the winner of the decathlon at the '76 Montreal Games, is one of the alleged celebrities on the show. He fell during rehearsals and cracked his head open, requiring a trip to a plastic surgeon and 16 stitches in his head.
"I wanted to come back (after the injury), but they wouldn't let me come back," Jenner said. "I actually went to Garth Fisher, you know, the guy from 'Extreme Makeover.' My wife had his home phone number."
What? His wife had the plastic surgeon's phone number?
C'mon, Bruce. Some of us remember what you used to look like.
TODD BRIDGES has participated in "celebrity sports" before. As a 14-year-old on "Diff'rent Strokes," he was a member of NBC's team in "Battle of the Network Stars." And he didn't get along so well with teammate Robert Conrad, who wanted to be his team's representative in a foot race instead of Bridges.
"He really thought he could beat me in a foot race. He was, like, 'I'm going to run,' " Bridges said. "I'm like, 'Well, you should let me run. . . . I'm younger, and I'm a lot faster than you are.'
"I said, 'Well, let's race for 20 bucks right now.' I raced him and I beat him, so he let me run."
And Conrad wasn't happy.
"He was very angry," Bridges said. "He was a real macho guy. He wasn't a 'Brokeback Mountain' type of cowboy."
I don't know. I bet there are lots of gay cowboys who could beat Bridges in a race.
