These new-to-DVD TV shows will be released on Tuesday.

"Grey's Anatomy: Season One" (Buena Vista, 2005, not rated, $29.99, two discs). This popular medical drama hit the ground running and is now even better in its second season (thanks partly to its lead-in show, "Desperate Housewives"). As witnessed on these discs, the show took a little while to find its footing, but this set is still worth a look.

Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey head an appealing ensemble cast that includes Sandra Oh, Katherine Heigl, T.R. Knight, James Pickens Jr., Chandra Wilson, Isaiah Washington and Justin Chambers in the up-and-down stories of intermingled lives in a Seattle hospital, but unlike "ER," this show focuses much more on the characters' trauma than the medical traumas they encounter.

Extras: Widescreen, nine episodes, audio commentaries, deleted scenes, featurettes, trailers, chapters.

"Significant Others: The Complete Series" (Shout! 2004, not rated, $29.98, two discs). The focus in this filmed sitcom (with no laugh track) are three disparate married couples who are in therapy (they talk directly to the camera) and represent different social strata (an older couple is replaced part way through the series by a black couple). Some amusing moments, though as with many such shows these days everyone seems awfully self-absorbed.

Extras: Full frame, 12 episodes, audio commentaries, optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Gimme a Break! Season One" (Universal, 1981-82, not rated, $34.98, three discs). The amusing Nell Carter stars in this sitcom about a housekeeper who becomes a surrogate mother to the kids of a recently widowed police chief. Look for Rue McClanahan, Helen Hunt and Danny Glover.

Extras: Full frame, 19 episodes, featurette, three bonus episodes: "Kate & Allie," "Charles in Charge" and one from the second season of "Gimme a Break!" optional English subtitles, chapters.

"Charles in Charge: The Complete First Season" (Universal, 1984-85, not rated, $34.98, three discs). Scott Baio stars in this silly sitcom about a family's live-in helper who isn't much older than the kids to whom he's trying to offer guidance. Look for Meg Ryan, Christina Applegate and Matthew Perry in various episodes.

Extras: Full frame, 22 episodes, featurette, trailers, subtitle options (English, Spanish, French), chapters.
