The Rev. France A. Davis, pastor of Salt Lake's Calvary Baptist Church, has received the 2006 Masonic Award from the Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons of Utah.
This award is given annually to a non-Mason who exemplifies the principles of the fraternity — friendship, morality and brotherly love.
The Rev. Davis has assisted with Utah's civil-rights movement and was the first black person on the Utah Board of Pardons.
