Eric Desous has joined Big-D Construction as an estimator, based in the company's Fastrack division. Desous has seven years of experience in construction, including Trump Tower in Chicago and Fox Entertainment Studios in Los Angeles.
The Salt Lake law firm of Workman Nydegger announced that Carl Reed and Fraser Roy were named shareholders in the firm. Roy has been with Workman Nydegger since 1998. His practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow and Brigham Young University. Reed also has been with Workman Nydegger since 1998 and concentrates his practice on prosecuting patent applications. He is a graduate of the Kansas Law School and BYU.
Bryce Buchanan, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has joined PwC's Salt Lake office. He will oversee client audits to assure regulatory compliance. Buchanan joined PricewaterhouseCoopers 15 years ago and most recently worked from the firm's San Jose, Calif., office. He is a graduate of BYU.
Dr. Ronald L. Weiss, president and chief operating officer of ARUP Laboratories, was named chairman of the board for the American Clinical Laboratory Association. Weiss will serve a two-year term.
The Ogden/Weber Chamber Spikers announced its new officers. Craig Bielik of the Ogden Standard-Examiner was named Head Gandy Dancer for 2006. John A. Lindquist II of Lindquist Mortuaries will serve as Vice-Head Gandy Dancer, and Tim Kendell of Intermountain Health Care was named Ticket Agent.
WebBank, a Salt Lake-based industrial bank, has named Marshall Benowitz as Small Business Administration business development officer. Prior to joining WebBank, Benowitz was a principal and general manager of a retail business for 15 years.
The Salt Lake Board of Realtors has named its 2006 officers. Sharon Spratley, Prudential Utah Real Estate, was named president; Gary Cannon, Re/Max Associates, is first vice president; Jillinda Bowers, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, will serve as second vice president; Bill Heiner, ERA Village Realtors, was named treasurer; and Debra Sjoblom, Chapman Richards & Associates, is past president.
