The Salt Lake City Arts Council is offering a Color Image Workshop for artists seeking to learn about producing quality images of their work. The workshop, taught by Fred Wright, will be Saturday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Art Barn in Reservoir Park. Registration fee is $50. For more information call 274-2865.

Gary Earnest Smith is the subject of an article in the February issue of "American Art Collector." The artist currently has a show at the Overland Gallery of Fine Art, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Art Access, 339 W. Pierpont, will complete its series of Workshops for Adults with Marcee Blackerby on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.. Blackerby will teach "Mixed-Media Boxes." Participants will learn how to incorporate personal treasures into one finished piece. Space is limited so call for preregistration. Interested adults should call 328-0703.

The University of Utah College of Architecture and Planning will host guest lecturer, architect John Kaliski, on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the college's building, Room 217. Westminster College will hold a "Portfolio Day" for art students interested in pursuing art at the college level on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The event includes portfolio appraisal, lunch and meeting current art students.
