Kudos to UDOT, and all those involved, for reshaping the Legacy Parkway plans. According to Nicole Warburton's article (Jan. 24), the original plan a "massive freeway that induced sprawl" morphed into a "redesigned parkway with a huge nature preserve and full emphasis on mass transit options." It has been called a "win-win situation." I am pleased to note what has come of cooperation and compromise.
I still ask that the Legacy Parkway not be built. And I truly understand and appreciate the provisions taken. But anywhere we open access to general populations, traffic will enter and bring litter, pollution and noise. Traffic will drive away the original inhabitants of this area, causing damage that will catch up with us.
