BYU professor to discuss splitting of atom waves

PROVO — Dallin S. Durfee, a BYU physics and astronomy professor, will discuss "Splitting and Recombining Atom Waves" as part of the House of Learning Lecture Series at Brigham Young University at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Durfee will focus his lecture on experimentation and development in the field of "atom interferometry." He has also taught and conducted research at Yale University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received his doctorate in 1999.

Admission is free.
