The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center of Utah has unveiled its "Gay Handbook," and it wants to put a new face on Marriage Week in Utah.
"In Utah, Marriage Week is a slap in the face for those who can't marry the one they love," said Valerie Larabee, executive director of the center.
Larabee said the handbook unveils the upcoming Salt Lake City Winterfest, which starts Feb. 3. It also includes an initiative to change the face of National Marriage Week, which is Feb. 7-14.
Winterfest is a celebration designed for GLBT adults, their families, friends and supporters. A complete listing of activities can be found at www.slcwinterfest.com. Proceeds will directly benefit programs and services of the center.
