Salt Lake-based Klever Marketing Inc. on Wednesday announced the appointment of Arthur Portugal as its president.
Portugal replaces interim president Daniel L. Warner, who will continue with the company as executive vice president for business development.
Portugal has more than 20 years of experience in retail merchandising and marketing, with emphasis in sales, customer management and operations. He most recently was vice president of business development at Storecast Merchandising Corp. Prior to that, he was president of two third-party merchandising companies, Fieldflex USDA and OneSource Industries, and executive vice president of PIA Merchandising.
Klever, in collaboration with Fujitsu Transaction Systems, is preparing to bring to market the U-Scan Shopper, a cart-mounted device that communicates advertising, promotions and in-store information directly to consumers and is designed to speed the checkout process by enabling them to scan as they shop.
