I've been amazed at the media blitz Intermountain Health Care has launched to tell the public how wonderful they are. Their publicity campaign reminds of the type of advertising politicians do during an election year. Every time I turn on the radio, pick up a newspaper or watch television, I am bombarded with IHC ads. Do those at IHC really believe that dedicated compassionate health care providers are unique to their organization? I know many great people who work for IHC; however, I know just as many who work for non-IHC health care organizations in the state. It makes me wonder if the legislative study looking into IHC business practices in Utah is not going well. I hope that those at IHC are not trying to sway what should be an objective study of their organization.
