Utah gymnasts move up to No. 2 in the latest poll

The University of Utah's gymnastics team moved up to second from third, and freshman Kristina Baskett hit the all-around charts at No. 3 with a bullet on the third NCAA coaches' poll released Monday.

Georgia again is ranked No. 1 with its 195.833 season average, while Utah's 195.417 nudges No. 3 Alabama (195.392).

BYU (191.725) rates No. 27, Utah State (191.358) 31st and Southern Utah is not listed. USU and SUU visit Utah Friday night at 7.

In the all-around, Baskett, who made her four-event debut last Friday in the Huntsman Center, scoring 39.25, is third though she doesn't have a season average yet. Ute junior Nicolle Ford (39.237) ranks fifth.

Utah's vault team ranks second to Georgia, 49.167-49.142, its floor team ranks second to Georgia, 49.317-48.983, and the Utes (48.625) are third in beam and tied for 12th on bars. BYU (48.187) is tied for 22nd on bars.
