LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Ryan Blais won a postponed World Cup aerials competition Sunday, but it wasn't enough to put him on the Canadian Olympic Team.

His roommate, Jeff Bean, finished second and clinched the last Olympic berth.

Blais received 128.10 points for his jump. Bean, who needed to finish fourth or better, scored 124.34 points.

American Jeret Peterson, the defending World Cup champion, finished third with 123.48.

Peterson added his own drama as he tried to complete his signature "Hurricane," a five-twist, three-flip jump, the most difficult on the tour. One ski popped off as he landed, but Peterson balanced through the finish area on one ski. He said with a smile, "I think I should've gotten more points for landing on one ski — that's so much harder than two skis."

The meet concluding the Nature Valley Freestyle Cup weekend was postponed from Saturday because of high wind. By agreement, it was reduced to one round of jumping.

Earlier at Whiteface Mountain, the second moguls contest of the weekend saw Olympic champion Kari Traa of Norway win the women's event, while World Cup leader Dale Begg-Smith of Australia won the men's event.

Jillian Vogtli finished third in the final qualifying contest to apparently clinch a place on the U.S. Olympic Team, which will be announced Wednesday.

US SKI JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS: At Steamboat Springs, Colo., two-time Olympian Clint Jones upset Todd Lodwick Sunday in the normal hill U.S. Ski Jumping Championship at Howelsen Hill, ending Lodwick's run of eight consecutive titles over three seasons.

Lodwick, a four-time nordic combined Olympian, won the large hill and nordic combined titles Saturday.

In the women's national championship, Lindsey Van made it two titles in two days, jumping 88.5 and 91.5 meters for 230.5 points. Jessica Jerome was second for the second straight day.
