PROVO The Brigham Young University Department of Visual Arts has received continuing accreditation for the coming eight years from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design Commission.
The NASAD Commission of Accreditation announced the accreditation in November 2005 based on an on-site visit in February. NASAD is an association of approximately 248 schools of art and design, primarily at the collegiate level.
BYU received accreditation for the longest period of time accreditation can be given. The commission also voted to accept the new bachelor of fine arts degree in animation.
The BYU Department of Visual Arts has been continuously accredited since 1989.
