The Mandarin to welcome year with 8-course menu

BOUNTIFUL — The Mandarin in Bountiful is ringing in the Chinese New Year 2006, the lunar year of the dog, with a special eight-course menu.

From shrimp and cream cheese won tons, to Shanghai meatballs and Dan Dan noodles, Mandarin Chef Zhen Wei Liu and the restaurant's other cooks from Hong Kong and San Francisco will offer the eight-course menu from Jan. 30-Feb. 11. The menu is available for parties of four or more for $22 a person and also includes lemon pepper shrimp and beef with fresh asparagus

On Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. the restaurant will host a traditional Lion Dance.

The Mandarin, 348 E. 900 North, is open Monday-Thursday 5-9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5-10:30 p.m. Reservations will be accepted for parties of more than eight by calling 298-2406.
