Legislative committee OKs the overhaul of tech council

A bill to rework the Utah Technology Industry Council was passed out of committee on Tuesday.

HB50 was passed out by the House Public Utilities and Technology Committee. Its sponsor is Rep. David Litvack, D-Salt Lake.

The bill calls for the council to consist of a chairman and vice chairman, appointed by the Senate president and House speaker, who would form ad-hoc committees that would tackle specific high-tech issues.
