One of the all-time great Westerns leads off this potpourri of eclectic new-to-DVD movies.

"The Magnificent Seven: Collector's Edition" (MGM, 1960, not rated, $24.96, two discs). Yul Brynner and a wonderfully cast clique of ultra-cool future superstars — including Steve McQueen, James Coburn and Charles Bronson — all try to steal scenes from each other in this remake of Akira Kurosawa's Japanese classic "The Seven Samurai." And darned if this Old West version isn't almost as good.

Seven gunslingers are hired by Mexican farmers to protect them from an evil bandido (Eli Wallach, setting the template for his later role in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"). But the plot is secondary to the characterizations, the quip-filled dialogue, the action and that grand Elmer Bernstein music.

Oddly, the primary bonus features here — including the main featurette, and the audio commentary with Coburn and Wallach — were on a previous one-disc release.

Extras: Widescreen, two audio commentaries, making-of featurettes, photo galleries, language and subtitle options (English, French, Spanish), chapters.

"Two for the Money" (Universal, 2005; R for language, sex, nudity, violence; $29.98). Al Pacino — in full over-the-top mode — is the owner of a sports-betting hotline who mentors hot up-and-comer Matthew McConaughey, only to discover he's created a monster. Rene Russo is Pacino's wife. The film never rises to its potential, but it has its moments.

Extras: Separate widescreen and full-frame editions, deleted scenes, making-of featurettes, trailers, language options (English, French), subtitle options (English, Spanish, French), chapters.

"The Man" (New Line, 2005, PG-13, $27.98). This broad comedy is a sad waste of the talented stars, as tough undercover agent Samuel L. Jackson is forced to team up with bumbling Eugene Levy after a case of mistaken identity.

Extras: Widescreen, deleted scenes, making-of featurettes, bloopers, subtitle options (English, Spanish), chapters.

"Buffalo Soldiers" (TNT/Warner, 1997, G, $19.98). Danny Glover stars in this well-made, fact-based story of an all-black cavalry troop during the Civil War, attempting to capture a renegade Apache warrior.

Extras: Full frame, subtitle options (English, French, Spanish), chapters.
