2004

Oct. 5 — Scott Aston found dead four days after he calls Provo 911 unsuccessfully for help

Oct. 6 — Autopsy fails to determine cause of death

Oct. 26 — Ogden police complete evaluation of Provo's handling of Aston's 911 call

Nov. 29 — For the first time, Mayor Lewis Billings tells Aston's family about the 911 call

2005

March 4 — Deseret Morning News contacts Provo about Aston case

March 7 — During a press conference, Billings informs the public about the call

March 24 — Provo denies Deseret Morning News GRAMA request for copy of Ogden review; Billings promises to share Ogden review with City Councilman Steve Turley

June — Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials reviewers visit Provo to evaluate dispatch center

July 5 — For the first time, Billings shares Ogden's review with the council

Aug. 11 — Provo settles with Aston family for $220,000

Aug. 15 — Provo releases Ogden review

Oct. 13 — Billings says during election debate APCO report will be "no secret"

Nov. 14 — APCO mails its evaluation to Provo

Jan. 5 — Deseret Morning News files GRAMA request for copy of APCO report

Jan. 17 — Provo releases the APCO report to the City Council and the public
