Wedding show on wedding turf

LEHI — Marketing executives at Thanksgiving Point say the January 2006 Wedding Expo is only the first of many such events.

There will be one in January and in March and September each year, said Todd Maurer. "We expect a good turnout, 500 or so," he said.

Maurer said the interest is high and Thanksgiving Point can offer something unique.

Steve Williams, chief marketing officer for Thanksgiving Point, said weddings, wedding breakfasts, luncheons and photography — even proposals — are routine at the resort, so if makes sense to have a wedding show on wedding turf.

"What is not routine is the type of experience that we provide," Williams said. "Thanksgiving Point is a one-of-a-kind location."

Fashion shows, carriage rides, a bridal salon with free updos and makeup provided by Sherman Kendall Academy, and a special groom's room with games, videos and refreshments, will all be part of the Thanksgiving Point Wedding Expo.

Also in store are hourly contests and prizes, nightly grand prizes, demonstrations and an expanded vendor area with more than 70 exhibits and experts to help plan the big event. A grand prize will be awarded by UtahBrides.com to one lucky couple. Entry forms are available online.

As a bonus, the first 25 brides to arrive each day will receive a UtahBrides.com ultimate bridal planning portfolio.
