AMERICAN FORK — The house of attorney Keith Barton — noted for his "one call, that's all" television ads — will be auctioned off next week, with the proceeds going to a bank to repay a revolving credit loan.

The auction will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the 4th District Court building, 75 E. 80 North, American Fork.

Barton's house is located in the Alpine Cove subdivision. The structure, located on 9.25 acres, has seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms. In November, a Coldwell Banker real estate agent listed the price as $14.9 million.

The house will be sold to the highest bidder. Bidders must bring $5,000 to the sale and provide the remainder of the purchase price within 24 hours, according to a notice by a trustee who is managing the sale on behalf of the bank. The notice was submitted to the Utah County Recorder and posted on its Web site.

According to the trustee, Barton defaulted on payments for two loans of $8.5 million and $2 million for which the property was used as collateral.

Proceeds of the sale will go to Bank of America N.A. The owner of the property was listed as Anna G. Barton.

Barton parted ways in July with law firm partner Buddy W. Gregory and managing attorney Craig Swapp of the former Lehi law firm of Gregory, Barton & Swapp.

The breakup came after a management dispute erupted in March over large debts allegedly incurred by Barton involving loans secured against the company's assets.

The law firm is now called Gregory & Swapp. Barton has started a new firm called Keith Barton and Associates.
